Empowerment through Enterprise
Many Hands understands the importance of bringing the right people together to tackle the social and economic injustice by supporting those who are vulnerable, excluded and marginalised, in both India and the North East of England.
We do this by empowering individuals through enterprise, with a view to improving their well-being and quality of life, so that ultimately they can achieve economic independence and a sense of self-worth.
Many Hands provides the entrepreneurial and soft skills, business training and financial investments to set up stand alone businesses to prevent or relieve poverty in India. We work directly with small NGOs to create sustainable businesses that will provide long-term opportunities and support, rather than reliance on continuous donations
We work with local NE primary schools via our Schools programme to highlight the issues of poverty in India. In addition, we also run an Empowerment programme to give opportunities to local people in recovery from addiction to get involved and support our work.
Many Hands is a registered charity in England and Wales, with a registered charity number of 1170670.
